Spain's Caruana-eurozone inflationary risks remain

SPAIN - Bank of Spain Governor Jaime Caruana said Apr 4, 2001 that inflationary risks in the euro zone are easing but continue to exist.

Caruana told reporters after a conference on the introduction of the euro that the current wait-and-see policy of the European Central Bank is "the best attitude."

"The ECB decided at its last meeting to continue a wait-and-see policy and that's the situation we are in now," Caruana said. "Decisions will be taken when they are needed," he added.
