German parliament likely to block Buba reform plan

GERMANY - Long standing plans to reform Germany's central bank face a drawback as the Bundesrat upper house of parliament is expected to delay an approval Friday.

Many of the representatives of the 16 German states have said they will call for fresh negotiations over the plan to cut the number of Bundesbank council members to 8 from 15 currently.
