French drive for securities regulator

FRANCE - The debate over whether Europe should have a single securities regulator continues as Paris based Eurofi, which has close links with the French government, plans to publish proposals based on a poll of financial services companies.

Senior French financiers are striving to renew a controversial drive for a single European securities regulator, and are seeking an EU-wide consensus among financial services groups to put the issue on the agenda of the constitutional convention on the future
