Third of central banks link staff remuneration to strategic plan

Strategic planners are paid $40,000 on average per year

The progression of strategic plans is linked to staff compensation in around a third of central banks, the Strategic Planning Benchmarks 2025 find.

The approach is a practice by 31.6% of 38 data providers. The principle does not apply in the majority (68.4%) of central banks.

A breakdown of the data by wealth levels reveals similar patterns across jurisdictions. The majority of central banks tend not to link staff remuneration with strategic plans. Lower-middle income respondents are the least
