Minority of central banks define project risk appetite

Institutional risk and delegated risk appetites defined more often

Most central banks do not define key risk metrics for projects risk appetites, the Risk Management Benchmarks 2022 reveal. 

Central Banking asked officials about defined risk appetite metrics at their central banks. Most (66%) said they have defined key risk metrics for institutional risk appetite; fewer said they have risk metrics for their delegated risk appetite (54%). Just 38% of respondents said they have defined risk metrics for project risk appetite.
