Central banks are upgrading their own systems and pushing financial firms to think strategically

Central banks have been developing their approaches to tackling cyber and quantum risk, while pushing private sector firms to do the same.

On April 1, central bankers from Europe and Asia came together for an interbank working group on the sidelines of the Central Banking Meetings, Kuala Lumpur. Participants shared ways of improving cyber defences and controlling risks associated with artificial intelligence, as well as looking ahead to the risks from quantum computing.
