Central banks published fewer working papers and articles in 2023

Middle income and low income central banks published less

Central banks tended to reduce their publication rate over the past year, data from the Economics Benchmarks 2024 shows.

Across 33 jurisdictions, economists published a median of four working papers in 2024 compared to five in 2023. The median number of papers published in peer-reviewed journals also declined from three in the preceding period to two in 2024.
