US comptroller takes direct charge of agency’s bank supervision


The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced on July 6 that its chief will assume direct responsibility for the agency’s bank supervisory duties.

The reforms will take effect later this summer, placing two bank supervision divisions, the supervision policy division and supervision risk and analysis, under the comptroller.  

Previously, these divisions answered to the agency’s chief operating officer. This official, currently Blake Paulson, also held the title of senior deputy
