IMF paper urges regulators to merge IT and cyber rules

Regulation should reflect interrelations of IT and cyber risk, report says

Regulation of cyber risk in the financial sector would be more effective if oversight of IT departments and cyber risk was combined, a report published by the International Monetary Fund on January 5 says.

The document brings together lessons from the IMF’s work on cyber risk, reflecting its technical assistance and financial sector assessment processes.
