Bolivia’s new government picks interim central bank chief
Career monetary authority official David Espinoza vows to restore independence
Bolivia’s new government has chosen a career central banker to become the interim president of the monetary authority.
The country’s president, Rodrigo Paz, on November 13 appointed David Espinoza as the interim central bank chief and sworn him in on the same day. Espinoza replaced Roger Edwin Rojas Ulo, who had been in charge of the Central Bank of Bolivia since 2020.
