Ireland no longer approving Israel bond prospectuses in EU

Luxembourg takes over following campaign by Irish civil society groups

The Central Bank of Ireland has said it will no longer approve the prospectuses for Israeli government bonds in the European Union.

According to Irish media reports, the governor of the central bank confirmed the change on September 1 in a letter to the chair of the parliamentary finance committee.

In its latest prospectus, issued on the same day, Israel’s bond issuance programme stated that approval was now being granted by Luxembourg’s financial supervisory commission.
