Peter Praet delves deeper into ECB forward guidance

Peter Praet, the European Central bank (ECB) chief economist and executive board member, today delved deeper into the motivations behind the central bank's decision to introduce forward guidance last month, reasserting the possibility that further rate cuts could follow.

Writing for Vox, the policy research portal, Praet explained how the ECB's pledge to keep interest rates "at present or lower levels for an extended period of time" provides additional easing while ensuring that the full force
