Mexico's Ortiz sees inflation pressures easing

Mexican central bank governor Guillermo Ortiz has forecast that inflationary pressures in Mexico will remain high for the next two months but ease by the end of the year.

"We are going to have high inflation in October and November. We hope that in December it begins to come down," Ortiz told reporters at an event in Mexico City.

"I hope that by the end of the year we are below 4 percent in general inflation," he said.

"It got out of hand this month but it will come back," Ortiz said. "It came in a bit higher than the market expected."

"The important thing is that they remain clear for the medium term, for the next year, and we will be very watchful."
