Central Bank of Ireland, Quarterly Bulletin 1/2007

The Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland has published its First Quarterly Bulletin for 2007. According to the Bulletin, against a broadly favourable international background, the outlook for the Irish economy remains generally good.

The central bank is forecasting a GNP growth rate of 5 per cent (GDP 5 ½ per cent) for 2007. This rate of growth is only slightly less than the estimated growth rate for last year and may be slightly above the economy's medium-term growth
