RBNZ warns of cyber risk from cloud

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand published its draft cyber security guidance, which would oblige financial firms to notify it if they outsource critical functions to cloud service providers.

The RBNZ’s draft guidance goes further than that issued by some other regulators, which have only recommended that firms notify them about outsourcing but not made it mandatory.
