Republican lawmaker says questions about president’s holdings stymied passage of Clarity Act

US president Donald Trump’s ethics have been a “sticking point” for the passing of the Clarity Act, a Republican lawmaker has admitted.

Bryan Steil, a member of the House of Representatives, made the comments during a panel event on October 14 at the Institute of International Finance (IIF) annual meetings.

Steil chairs the House financial services subcommittee on digital assets, financial technology and artificial intelligence. He is also one of the original co-sponsors of the Clarity Act, which
