PBoC’s digital yuan on track for 2022 Winter Olympic debut
Preparations for e-yuan to be used in the winter games are at a final stage, says deputy governor
The digital yuan trial for the 2022 Winter Olympics is “on the home straight”, according to Fan Yifei, deputy governor of the People’s Bank of China.
Fan has visited the venues of the winter games in two cities – Zhangjiakou and Beijing – to inspect the digital currency trial, the PBoC said in a statement published on September 16.
The deputy governor called on the team to “feel the urgency” of the project and to take it seriously. The State Administration of Foreign Exchange also participated
