SNB to launch live wCBDC pilot in December

The Swiss National Bank will launch its live wholesale central bank digital currency (wCBDC) pilot on December 1, it announced on November 2. 

Six banks – Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, Basler Kantonalbank, Commerzbank, Hypothekarbank Lenzburg, UBS and Zürcher Kantonalbank – will settle bond transactions on the Six Digital Exchange (SDX) during the pilot, which will run from December to June 2024.
