BIS and Fed launch New York ‘innovation centre’


The Bank for International Settlements and Federal Reserve have launched an “innovation centre” in New York, an offshoot of the BIS network of innovation hubs.

Rather than a full hub, such as those now operating in Hong Kong and Singapore, the innovation centre was created as a “strategic partnership” between the BIS and Fed.

The innovation centre will study five “opportunity areas”: supervisory and regulatory technology; financial market infrastructure; the future of money; open finance; and
