Kazakh crypto fund to hold assets seized from criminals – report
Central bank to use hedge funds to hold confiscated digital assets on its behalf
Timur Suleimenov, the governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, told attendees at an “annual business review” event on January 29 that the country’s cryptocurrency fund would hold “crypto investments seized by law enforcement agencies”, financial outlet qaztrade reported on its Telegram channel.
He added that the central bank had picked five hedge funds to help it with holding the crypto, as it did not want to handle the assets directly.
