Reserve managers’ environmental plans choked by dearth of data – panel

For reserve managers looking to ‘green’ their portfolios, “the biggest challenge is still the data gap”, the chief financial officer of a regional development bank told the Central Banking Autumn Meetings in Rio.

Speaking on a panel on November 19, the CFO said “data fragmentation” and “lack of harmonisation” had created international discrepancies between environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, and even between data providers assessing the same firms. 

However, the CFO said that
