The Central Bank of Myanmar and Indian officials have reportedly reached a preliminary agreement on establishing a bilateral swap line, following a significant increase in trade between the two countries.

Reports in Burmese media on June 24 stated that the governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, Khin Naing Oo, had met with India’s ambassador to the country, Abhay Thakur, in the city of Nay Pyi Taw the day before. During the meeting, the pair reportedly discussed measures to improve bilateral
