
Fast payment systems enhance financial inclusion – BIS paper
Researchers examine systems’ spread in Latin America and Caribbean

Implementing fast payment systems (FPSs) can increase financial inclusion, a paper from the Bank for International Settlements has found.
The paper, published on March 7, looks at how the implementation of FPSs has driven financial inclusion in Latin America and the Caribbean. It notes that most countries in the region have launched a FPS within the past 10 years.
