BIS begins design phase of Project Agorá
More than 40 firms join leading central banks in efforts to overhaul cross-border payments
Project Agorá, the public-private collaboration aiming to overhaul cross-border payments, has begun its design phase after enlisting more than 40 financial firms, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) announced today (September 16).
The firms, which include HSBC, JP Morgan and MUFG Bank, will join leading central banks to explore how tokenisation could enhance wholesale cross-border payments.
