ECB slows down PEPP purchases

Purchases reached €12.6 billion in the week to October 30, the lowest level since PEPP was launched

The European Central Bank’s purchases through the Pandemic Emergency Purchase Programme recorded the lowest weekly level to date in the week to October 30.

The central bank bought €12.6 billion ($14.7 billion) through Pepp over the period, down from €18.2 billion in the week ending October 23, according to official data. Total purchases under the programme amount to €627.6 billion.

The governing council approved this programme in March in a bid to close the widening spread between sovereign
