
Chile holds rates at 5% again
Inflation slows and growth exceeds expectations, though war in Middle East adds uncertainty, BCCh says

The Central Bank of Chile (BCCh) has again maintained its policy rate at 5% after the economy recorded strong growth at the start of the year.
In a statement yesterday (June 17), the BCCh’s board noted that Chile’s economy had grown by more than expected in the first quarter. The country’s quarter-to-quarter GDP growth was 0.7% in that period, according to data from the central bank.
