The governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, has handed in his resignation, as the divided nation continues to struggle with a weakening currency.

In two documents seen by Reuters, dated August 9, Issa said he could not continue in his post, but did not share reasons why. Issa confirmed the authenticity of the documents to Reuters but declined to comment on his reasons for resigning.
