People: Saudi governor elected to BIS board

Ayman Al-Sayari, the governor of the Saudi Central Bank (Sama), has become the first person from the Middle East and Africa region to be elected to the board of the Bank for International Settlements. He was appointed Sama governor in 2023, having previously been deputy governor since 2019.
