Riksbank proposes larger transfer to Swedish Treasury

Central bank would provide Skr6.8 billion to the government in 2021

Sveriges Riksbank’ general council proposed transferring Skr6.8 billion ($820 million) to the Swedish Treasury today (February 15).

This year’s transfer is 28.3% larger than last year. Back then, the institution proposed transferring the government Skr5.3 billion.

The Swedish central bank submitted its proposal today to the Riksdag, or parliament. This transfer stems from the institution’s profit in the financial year 2020. The proposal has been calculated according to guidelines in force
