BEAC governor clashes with political leaders over recruitment

The president of the ministerial committee that oversees the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) ordered its governor, Abbas Mahamat Tolli, to cease a hiring round for senior management on August 1.

Hervé Ndoba, also finance minster of the Central African Republic, suggested that the governor failed to follow merit-based recruitment processes. Media reports claim that Ndoba is accusing the governor of nepotism.
