New banking entrants key to financial inclusion – BCB deputy

Enabling new entrants to the banking industry is key to boosting financial inclusion and reaching under-served populations, the deputy governor for financial system organisation and resolution at the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) has said.

In a keynote speech at Central Banking’s Autumn Meetings in Rio de Janeiro, Renato Gomes mentioned the importance of enabling competition in the banking sector.
