Economic pressure on Ukraine is increasing, largely due to limited financial support from Western countries, well-informed sources tell Central Banking. Valeria Gontareva, former governor of Ukraine’s central bank, and Tymofiy Mylovanov, professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, both warn that the eastern European nation needs more external financing. Otherwise, Ukraine will face a falling currency and rising inflation.
