FDIC chair says Dodd-Frank means US regulators can manage failing Sifis

Systemically important financial institutions (Sifis) in the US are difficult to resolve because they are organised under a holding company structure with a top-tier parent and operating subsidiaries comprising thousands of interconnected entities, which in turn span legal and regulatory jurisdictions across international borders and share funding and critical support services, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) chairman Martin Gruenberg said in a speech yesterday.
