Frontier AI poses new cyber risks – BIS study

National and international co-operation needed to tackle increased threat

The heightened cyber threats posed by the latest developments in artificial intelligence will require companies and regulators to work together to maintain the security of financial systems, a bulletin from the Bank for International Settlements warns.

The bulletin, published on July 20, explains how frontier AI models such as Mythos are increasingly able to take advantage of cyber vulnerabilities.
