India’s central bank to launch digital lending platform
New interface will enable frictionless credit, RBI governor claims
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is to launch a lending platform that its governor says will enable frictionless credit.
Speaking at a conference on digital infrastructure and emerging technologies in Bengaluru on August 26, Shaktikanta Das said the Unified Lending Interface (ULI) would facilitate the flow of digital information to lenders, including land records in different states.
He claimed this would reduce the time needed to appraise borrrowers’ creditworthiness, which would benefit smaller
