‘Red teams’ will test cyber-security of European financial infrastructure
Bundesbank official praises “bug bounty” programmes that pay hackers to uncover vulnerabilities
The cyber security at Europe’s financial infrastructure will be tested by a “standardised European red team testing framework”, a member of the Deutsche Bundesbank argued in a speech today (September 7).
“Red teaming” involves an institution bringing in a group of cyber-security specialists to attempt to beat the “blue team”, or internal security experts, Joachim Wuermeling told an audience in Aschaffenburg. “In my opinion, “red teaming” is the ultimate in penetrating testing”, Wuermeling said
