Danish central bank asks citizens to vote on new banknote designs

Denmark’s central bank is inviting citizens to vote on which themes and people will appear on its redesigned banknotes, it announced on May 13.
The National Bank of Denmark’s new notes, set to circulate from 2028–29, will also introduce new security measures to prevent counterfeiting. The new designs will be used on banknotes in Denmark, and also in Greenland. The Faroe Islands uses a local issue of the currency called the Faroese krona.
