Fiji launches $7 varnished banknote
Reserve Bank issues commemorative note to celebrate rugby sevens squads
The Reserve Bank of Fiji revealed an unusual $7 commemorative banknote on March 26. The note marks the victories by Fijian women’s and men’s rugby sevens teams at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The $7 note is the RBF’s second commemorative currency in this denomination. The first, brought out in 2017, celebrated the men’s rugby sevens team’s gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The obverse side of the note, tinted bronze, features the women’s rugby team celebrating winning the bronze model in Tokyo. The
