Ink rubbing off notes ‘quite normal’, says Zimbabwe governor

Despite public outcry, governor says bond notes have so far been a success

The governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has attempted to reassure members of the public about the security of the nation's new bond notes, as people expressed their concern over its inconsistent design and printing.

In a statement released December 8, John Mangudya said "the rubbing off of ink" and "variation" in security thread placement on the notes was "quite normal".

His response comes after many citizens took to social media to complain about the notes, with many posting photos of
