
Bank of Burundi issues ‘world’s largest banknote’
Commemorative bill measures 400mm by 288mm and is on sale at €2,200 apiece

The Bank of Burundi has issued what it says is the world’s largest banknote in terms of physical size.
The note has a denomination of 10,000 francs ($3.37) and measures 400mm by 288mm (15.75 inches by 11.34 inches). It is being issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, which came into force in July 1975.
