National Bank of Hungary optimistic on SME lending

The National Bank of Hungary believes its funding for growth scheme will "lead a recovery in lending" to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) this year.

In a central bank lending survey, banks forecast a "slight easing" in credit conditions, and identified falls in lending rates. The central bank, in its latest financial stability report, says this "may have a positive impact on developments in lending" but warns it would be tempered in the short run by the "deterioration in economic
