
Taiwan central bank chief sets out priorities for new ADB president

The governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Perng Fai-Nan, has set out some of the challenges that Takehiko Nakao, the new president of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), should address.
Speaking at the 46th Annual Meeting of the ADB, Perng said Nakao would need to work on both past successes and areas where the institution "could have done better". He said Nakao's predecessors had "laid a solid foundation" for him to build on, with a capital base that has grown to $165
