Mboweni on governance of global finance

In this speech, Tito Mboweni, the governor of the South African Reserve Bank, argues that the G7 is "an exclusive economic club for rich countries and has outlived its usefulness".

Speaking at the University of Pretoria, Mboweni strongly criticised the current framework for the governance of the global financial system.

"Is the global governance we are dealing with today still relevant? Clearly it is not. We need to craft a global framework of economic and financial relations that is inclusive
