Caruana: what is next for Basel

In a speech to a conference in London on November 10, Jaime Caruana, governor of the Bank of Spain and chairman of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, addressed some issues regarding the implementation of the new capital accord.

According to Basel committee chairman, Jaime Caruana, some bank branches and subsidiaries remain ignorant about how their group intends to implement Basel II and this is hampering efforts of different national supervisors to coordinate their efforts:
