IMF's Lipsky: fiscal stimulus required
Global fiscal stimulus of 2% of GDP is justified in the current situation, said John Lipsky, the first deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund.
Lipsky said that fiscal policy action would be most effective if it was implemented more or less simultaneously in key trading partner countries. He recognised that fiscal stimulus was not advisable in countries with greater vulnerabilities or debt sustainability concerns.
He also said that measures to support low-income households
