NY Fed's Geithner on the US and global economy

In the speech 'U.S. and the global economy' given on 19 October Timothy Geithner of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said global imbalances present a threat to the world economy and should be addressed.

"These imbalances, which are most visible in the U.S. current account deficit, present challenges, and risks, for the world economy," Geithner told an Asia Society forum.

"How we manage the challenges will have significant implications for our economic future and for the rest of the world," he
