ECB's Trichet at the Transatlantic Roundtable

In keynote luncheon remarks at the conference 'Transatlantic Roundtable on Finance and Monetary Affairs' given on 13 April Jean-Claude Trichet of the ECB said that in terms of integration the euro area retail banking markets have further to go.

Trichet said the retail banking markets "are less integrated than the other euro area financial market segments."

He also said that "the euro area securities clearing and settlement infrastructure is not yet sufficiently integrated."
