Norway's Gjedrem explains growth phenomenon

Svein Gjedrem, the governor of the Bank of Norway, has highlighted three reasons why economic growth was high between 2003 and 2007.

The reasons were that:

· labour flowed into Norway from other countries;

· Norwegian businesses became increasingly efficient; and

· the country's terms of trade improved.
