Bank of Israel paper on increasing Palestinian employment


A Bank of Israel study published on Sunday says an increase in work permits to the Palestinian labour force has short-run benefits for Palestinian workers and adverse long-run effects on human capital accumulation.

Haggay Etkes, the paper's author, uses a unique dataset that merges data from the Palestinian labour force surveys with Israeli administrative data on employment permits to measure the impact of employment in Israel on the Palestinian labour force.
