Euro-area acceleration cycle industry driven
Accelerations and decelerations of the euro-area economy are mainly generated by the industrial sector, a new paper from Banque de France reveals.
The research focuses on the acceleration cycle in the euro area and puts forward a new reference turning-point chronology of this cycle on a monthly basis, based on GDP and the industrial production index. The analysis looks at both the aggregate level and country specific cycles for the six main countries of the zone.
